Proverbs 24
Perseverance
Read Proverbs Chapter 24
Key Verse | Proverbs 24:16
16 for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again,
but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.
Reflection
Life is rarely a straight path. Even the righteous – those seeking to live in obedience to God – will stumble, make mistakes, and face setbacks. Yet the measure of a person is not that they never fall, but that they rise again. Getting back up reflects resilience, faith, and a trust that God’s grace is greater than our failures and the difficulties we face.

In Proverbs 24 perseverance is solidly rooted in righteousness. The righteous rise because their life is anchored in God, not circumstances. When we fall whether through our own mistakes or life circumstances, we get up and lean more fully on him, to learn and to grow. Perseverance is active reliance on God, and a refusal to be defined by failure.

Self-Examine
1. In what areas of my life do I feel discouraged or tempted to give up?

2. How can I rely more on God’s grace when I stumble rather than relying solely on my own strength?
Prayer
Lord strengthen my heart to rise each time I stumble. Teach me to rely on your grace, to persevere with faith, and to view setbacks as opportunities to grow in righteousness. Help me to grow beyond my failures and find strength in your sanctifying grace. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen!
