26 Many are the victims she has brought down;
her slain are a mighty throng.
27 Her house is a highway to the grave,
leading down to the chambers of death.
Reflection
Proverbs 7 tells the story of a young man who falls into sexual sin. There is a progression through his story that teaches us lessons about the deceptiveness and progression of sexual sin. The young man finds himself where he should not be at a time he should not be there. Sin (personified in the Proverb by an adulteress) is lurking, ready to catch him unaware. When he sees her, he is enticed by her beauty. He is taken in by her deceptive words. When he falls to temptation it seems so sudden he is like an ox being led by its nose to slaughter. At the end the young man loses everything.
The warning of the Teacher is to avoid sexual sin at all cost. The young man could have avoided sin altogether if he had not wandered where he should not be. If we want to have sexual integrity we must begin by avoiding places and/or people where temptation lurks. We must turn our eyes from things that would drag us down and fix our eyes on Jesus.

Self-Examine
1. In order to maintain your Sexual Integrity what are some people, places, and things you must avoid? What other ways must you guard your heart?
2. Sexual Integrity is not just about what we don’t do; it is also about what we do. What are some healthy practices you can adopt to ensure you are living a life of sexual integrity (regular Scripture reading, accountability, healthy relationship with spouse, etc.)?
Prayer
God thank you for the gift of sexuality. You created me as a sexual being, and you designed the way in which sexuality is to be expressed. Help me to trust your Word and your way. When I am tempted give me strength to fix my eyes on you. Thank you for the freedom and wholeness I find in you. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen!
